As a Company, TI’s focus has always been to touch the lives of common people through its engineered products. In line with the same, Company’s focus areas under CSR has been well grounded and rooted to reach the grass root levels and accordingly, it has been categorised into four thrust areas
Providing quality education, employment skills and overall development including., promoting Arts, Sports of the underprivileged or meritorious children. Company recognises that empowering the future generations is the key to the development of the individuals and the country.
Providing communities and marginalised sections of the society with low cost medical services. Company recognises that health is critical for the development of an individual as well as nation.
Supporting communities and regions affected by natural disasters or pandemic. Inherent to its values and ethos Company believes in extending support either in materially or monetarily to the communities or areas which are affected by natural disasters or pandemic.
In order to ensure inclusive development, Company would like to improve the lives of people living in marginalised or economically backward communities in and around its place of operations, with programmes that encompass livelihoods, education, health & sanitation and women empowerment, this includes supporting Research.
Projects that will be identified and executed through the AMM Foundation and other benevolent entities of the Group, the Projects conceived and executed here would majorly focus mainly on education, healthcare, environment and research for developing sustainable solutions for rural applications.
Projects that focus on Community Development in the areas where our business operate – The projects under this category will be identified with an intent of overall development of the local community viz., environment sustainability, livelihood, education, health & sanitation and women empowerment. This will establish long term connect with the local community and build the brand of the Company. The projects under this category would be executed either directly by the Company or through an Agency.
Projects that support promotion of Sports, Arts, Culture, support for Research in premier institutes and values-based education – The projects under this category are identified with an intent of furthering the overall development of the youth, develop solutions that are critical for society and create transformational leaders. The projects under this category would be executed either directly by the Company or through an Agency.
Projects that are focussing on Company’s disaster management programmes – The activities under this category will be identified based on the need of the Society, Administration and will be executed either directly or through an Agency.
The AMM Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Murugappa Group that was started in the year 1953 with the objective of ‘ensuring community welfare before commercial success’, by devoting itself towards the cause of education and healthcare for benefit of the society. In the field of education, the Foundation manages five schools and colleges all of which are well renowned centres of educational excellence and much sought-after institutions by the local community, providing affordable and quality education to thousands of students. The Foundation also runs four hospitals, offering quality medical services to hundreds of needy people regardless of their social or economic background. The AMM Murugappa Chettiar Research Centre, Chennai (MCRC) is a non-profit organization established in 1973. Recognised by the DSIR, Govt. of India and other key government agencies, MCRC is engaged in scientific and industrial research for developing sustainable solutions with the key focus as food, energy and environment for the development of rural India.

The School is a Government aided school with English and Tamil mediums of instruction at Thiruvottiyur. The school provides quality education to the marginalized sections of the society especially the nearby fishermen community. The facilities offered are one and the best provided than those available in many private schools in that area. The fund allocated for this project will be utilised for setting up and maintaining the infrastructure, general maintenance of the school, payment of salaries of staff appointed by the management, administration expenditure etc.
The funds allocated for this project would be used for general maintenance of the hospital, future expansion cum renovation in order to accommodate the increasing number of patients and modernisation of medical facilities available at the hospital including but not limited to purchase of new/latest medical equipment.
The funds allocated for this project would be used for payment of full fee Scholarship to support poor, meritorious students pursuing Professional / Arts & Science courses in Government and Government aided colleges. The eligible students are identified based on an evaluation system and personal interview by the Foundation in consultation with the Company.
conducts research & development on Novel Applications of Natural Products for rural India that target farmers, individuals & NGO’s across the state of Tamil Nadu (Erode, Kancheepuram, Viluppuram, Sivaganga, Karur, Dindigul and Coimbatore districts).

At the Plant level, BU HR Heads will share their observations and reports during Quarterly Review and Planning Meetings with the Head CSR and concerned partner organization and necessary course corrective actions will be taken along with regular action plans for the subsequent Quarter.
At the Company level, the Head HR, TI Corporate shall review the progress of the CSR action plan every six months and shall monitor the progress of each of the projects that have been finalised both in terms of the quality of execution and the monetary spend and shall suggest corrective measures.
CSR progress will also be reviewed by the CSR Committee (Headed by MD) annually in addition to the review of Board Committee on CSR.
If CSR expenditure is less than the amount required to be spent under CSR obligation, the Board shall specify the reasons for not spending in the Board’s report and shall deal with the unspent amount in the following manner:
